About Wessex Wedding Photographers-

Wessex Weddings was set up several years ago by myself, Paul Quayle and John Burton. Two professional photographers who had been working independently as photographers for many years.John retired in September 2010 to travel the world. Paul has continued as I'm too young to retire and because I'm the head of a successful business that has grown rapidly through word of mouth, and providing an exceptional value for money wedding photography service. Wessex Weddings has expanded beyond the traditional heartland of the Somerset/Dorset/ Wiltshire borders. I shoot all of the weddings myself, but I have put together a small team of professional photographers that I now work with to provide a two photographer coverage if needed. Whether your wedding is in Hampshire or Somerset, first and foremost the essence of Wessex Weddings is to provide quality photography.

Somerset Wedding Photographer Paul Quayle Paul Quayle (owner) Somerset/ Dorset/ Wiltshire Photographer

Paul was born in Liverpool, and attended the same schools as John Lennon. After graduating from University of Reading in 1985 with a degree in Human Geography Paul wanted to actually experience first-hand the world he had studied. He has always had a love for travelling and a passion for photography and he combined these with a sense of adventure. After 18 months in Australia, where he printed film in a pro photo-lab, Hiroshima, Japan became his home and photo base for ten years. He has travelled to over fifty countries as a photographer and has photographed Muhammad Ali and the Dalai Lama amongst others. He is a “people” photographer, capturing the decisive moments in photo story features that have been published throughout the world. Most people reading this page have unknowingly seen his photography. In a recent December alone, his photography was published in The Times, Sunday Times, and Daily Mail.

His photography has regularly been featured in Japan Airlines in-flight magazine, National Geographic Traveler, Asiaweek, Marie Claire, Geographical, Rough Guides and The Guardian.

He returned to the UK in 1998 and he is now based in Somerset. He has over twenty years professional experience as a working photographer. His photo reportage style has been brought to wedding photography and is ideal for candid shots and creating “storybook” and reportage photography of the complete wedding day.

His wedding photography can be viewed on the portfolio gallery pages.
